Join us in London for Core Skills
If you have completed an EFCT Externship and started taking that learning into your clinical work, Core Skills is the next stage of your EFCT training. You understand the attachment foundations of the model, have begun to recognise and track cycles, and have been introduced to the EFT Tango — and then you go back to your clients and work on putting it into practice. We know that can be challenging.
Core Skills gives us eight days together in a smaller group, with more time to deepen your understanding, practise skills, reflect on your clinical work and develop your own way of working within the model.
This course is organised by the British EFT Centre (BEFT). [Click for full course information, fees and registration.]

Taking your Externship learning into practice
As you begin using EFCT with your clients, new questions emerge. How do I keep working with their cycle to shape the therapy? How do I learn the moves of the Tango and not lose the shape of the session? How do I step into and stay with emotion, including with clients who feel numb or say they ‘don’t know’? And how do I work out what is core EFCT and what is the individual style of the therapists I have watched?
These are the kinds of questions Core Skills gives us time to explore more deeply, as you develop greater confidence and flexibility in using the model.

Learning, practising and coming back for more
Our Core Skills takes place in two four-day blocks, in February and June, with the learning across both blocks continuing to build your understanding of cycles, the EFT Tango, emotion and the stages and steps of EFCT.
Importantly, the space between the two blocks gives you time to take what you are learning back to your clients. When we meet again in June, you bring with you the experiences, discoveries and questions that have emerged from trying things out in your own practice, giving us plenty to build on together.
Helene and I bring different personalities, identities, life experiences and ways of working with EFCT. We sometimes approach the same clinical moment differently while holding onto the same EFT map, helping you explore what is core to the model and what belongs to an individual therapist’s style. We share a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, weaving attention to partners’ intersecting identities, histories, cultures and wider contexts throughout our teaching.
